Cheap Content Might Save You ₹5,000 — But Cost You 5,000 Customers

A founder messaged me last week.

“We’re publishing 20 blogs a month for just ₹5,000!”

I paused.

“₹5,000 total?”

“Yeah! Full SEO content package. Crazy affordable, right?”

Well… yes.
Crazy affordable.

He sent me a few blog samples.

And here’s what I saw:

🚩 The Red Flags Were Immediate:

  • 🛑 AI-generated fluff with no depth

  • 🛑 Keyword stuffing like it’s still 2010

  • 🛑 Titles like:
“What Is Digital Marketing And Why Digital Marketing Is Important In Digital Marketing” 🤦‍♀️

And It Got Worse:

  • No internal linking

  • No formatting or readability

  • No CTAs to guide the reader

  • ❌ Content didn’t match user intent

The Result?

These blogs weren’t just unhelpful
They were actively hurting his SEO:

  • 📉 Bounce rates climbing

  • 📉 Pages not even indexing

  • 📉 Zero engagement

I asked him:

“Do you read these blogs yourself?”

He replied:

“Nah. They’re just for Google.”

But here’s the thing:

Google Reads Them Too.

So Do Your Customers.

  • 📌 Every blog reflects your brand voice

  • 📌 Every word shapes trust or kills it

  • 📌 Bad content = bad experience = no conversions

If You're Hiring Content Writers:

✔ Look beyond quantity — check quality
✔ Ask about their topic research process
✔ See if they understand SEO & your niche
Read their samples like your customers would

Because content isn’t just filler
It’s your voice, your pitch, your trust builder.

Final Thought:

Spending ₹5,000 on blogs may feel smart today…
But if it costs you 5,000 potential customers?

Not so smart after all.

Content is an asset — not an expense.
Choose writers who write to connect, not just to rank.
